I have found the best blogs in the blog rolls of other bloggers... which is how I found Garden Desk. I promote my own blog both through comments and also on gardening forums. I can say I have had decent success through the gardening formus in terms of people finding me.

As a long time garden blogger, I can attest that garden blogging mushroomed in 2006. I truly think Garden Voices was a factor in inspiring many gardeners to start blogging. Those of us already blogging were happy to add more fellow garden bloggers to our list.

I agree with both Tracy and Kim. Commenting is probably the best way to become noticed because it shows that you are willing to take the time and discuss the things that I like and vice versa.

Also, there are quite a few garden blog directories available to spy out new blogs. You can start with Kathy Purdy's list which also lists Shiela Lennon's and then, unashamedly my own blogging map that now lists any new blogs that are added at the Gardening Blog Directory

I was going to suggest commenting, too. I often read through the comments on a post, and if what the blogger has to say is interesting I click the link to visit them, too.

Thank you Tracy. You are too kind. You are also right about getting people to notice your blog by commenting on others. That is what is so great about blogging. We can communicate with other gardeners through comments. When you leave a comment, it helps that person and thier blog AND it can help your blog too.

Zig Zigglar the motivational speaker and writer always said "You can have anything you want in life if you just help enough other people get what they want."

Leaving comments can be like that, assuming you and the blogger both want traffic to your blogs and communication from readers.

I found you and your great blog when you posted a comment to my blog! Actually, it seems I find a lot of new blogs by clicking on the links to people who comment on other blogs (not just mine).
